Amazon Music introduces AI-driven playlist feature, Maestro

Amazon Music has launched an innovative AI-driven playlist feature called Maestro.Currently in its beta phase, the feature is available to a select group of Amazon Music users in the US on iOS and Android platforms.Users involved in this beta testing will find Maestro on their home screen after updating their app or when they tap the plus button to create a new playlist.

Maestro uses natural language prompts for playlist curation

Maestro utilizes natural language prompts to curate diverse playlists. These prompts can include sounds, activities, emotions, and even emojis. For instance, Amazon suggests that users could ask Maestro to create a playlist of songs that resonate with the robot emoji. This could potentially yield a playlist featuring Daft Punk tracks.Other suggested prompts include “😭 and eating 🍝,” “Make my 👶 a genius,” “Myspace era hip-hop,” and “Music my grandparents made out to.”

Amazon plans to expand Maestro’s availability gradually

Amazon plans to gradually increase the availability of Maestro.Currently, Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers can instantly listen to Maestro playlists and save them or share them with friends.Prime members and users on the ad-supported free tier have the option to listen to 30-second previews of their playlists before deciding whether or not they want to save them.Earlier this month, Spotify also introduced a similar feature for Premium members in the UK and Australia, known as AI Playlist.
